With an impressive morning session, Red Bull KTM Tech3‘s Miguel Oliveira started well into the second half of the season, being fourth fastest. In FP2 he even broke the 1:57 mark to miss out on a provisional Q2 spot by just 0.139 seconds and concluding Friday at the Automotodrom Brno as the fastest KTM rider.

At the same time Hafizh Syahrin didn’t impress less to conquer P7 on his last flying lap in FP1 and found some improvements also towards the end of the second Free Practice to end up 0.752 seconds behind his teammate. Both Red Bull KTM Tech3 riders can’t wait to hit the track again for FP3 tomorrow morning at 9.55 local time.

"Overall, it has been a good beginning here in Brno. We did a great job in the morning and managed to already do a fast lap time. We didn’t expect to be that fast in the afternoon as well, because we were the first ones to put in a new tyre in the morning and later, we knew our opponents will use this advantage too. In general, we are happy. We are losing a bit too much in sector two, but at the moment our target is to really find a decent compromise for the race and obviously looking forward to have a strong Qualifying tomorrow."

"This first day has been quite good. This morning, I had a great pace, although I know, that not all of the other riders put in new tyres. This afternoon, I had a decent feeling as well, but we still need to improve our front feeling as I’m struggling to stop and turn the bike at the same time. So, for sure, the team and me, we will find something to try for tomorrow. As it seems the conditions will be tricky here, so we have to wait and see if we can work in the same direction in order to also improve our race pace."
