The Red Bull KTM Tech3 duo of Miguel Oliveira and Hafizh Syahrin were working hard in FP1 and FP2 today, but didn’t experience an easy opening day of the Aragon Grand Prix at sunny Motorland.
While Oliveira, who still recovers from a shoulder injury sustained at the British GP, finished FP1 eleventh fastest, he struggled to improve on his previous best time this afternoon with hot track temperatures. Syahrin meanwhile, lowered his personal best from this morning by 0.792 seconds in the second session of the weekend to finish just 0.201 seconds behind his teammate and is eager to do another step from tomorrow’s FP3 at 9.55 local time.

"To be honest, for me this was a disappointing Friday. We went on to work on different front settings and at the moment it seems like we have a lot of positives, but also many negative points, so we need to find out where to go from tomorrow to improve our position. Let’s see, as the weather forecast says mixed conditions for tomorrow. Either way, we will do our best."
Hafizh Syahrin
Position: 19th

"I felt really good today with the bike. We found a quite big improvement, there are just some limits, like I was looking for some extra support from the front. I went with the medium front tyre, just to be safe, but if the weather is good tomorrow I will try the hard Michelin front to see where our potential on the brake is. Now I feel good, we are not far from the other KTM riders, so we keep working hard."
