After nineteen races in sixteen countries, Tech3 KTM Factory Racing has arrived in Valencia in Spain for the twentieth and ultimate round of a busy 2022 MotoGP season, which was highlighted by the return of all the races overseas for the first time since 2019.

It feels like yesterday that the French team was welcoming amongst its ranks Moto2 World Champion Remy Gardner and Moto2 Runner-Up Raul Fernandez for their first season in the MotoGP championship. After a year with highs and lows, but mostly a lot of learnings, Gardner and Fernandez will race for the last time with the Tech3 KTM Factory Racing family. The target will be to try finishing this season on a positive note, with high hopes to have both our riders score points for the team’s final dance in orange colours.

After four race weeks in different time zones, we are back to Europe and to an usual schedule. Remy and Raul will begin the Valencia Grand Prix action on Friday at 9:55 (GMT+1) with the first free practice session followed by FP2 in the afternoon at 14:10. The final qualifying day of the season on Saturday will begin with Free Practice 3 at 9:55 for forty-five minutes, before the final chance to practice with FP4 at 13:30. Qualifying sessions will follow immediately from 14:10. The Gran Premio de la Comunitat Valenciana is scheduled at 14:00 (GMT+1), on Sunday, for the last twenty-seven laps of 2022.

Remy Gardner

Championship: 23rd
Points: 10

"I am unsure whether I am looking forward to it or not, but it will be my last race in MotoGP for now. All I want to do is enjoy the weekend as much as I can, spend this final race with the people I love in the paddock, and try to go out with the best result possible."

Raul Fernandez

Championship: 25th

Points: 10

"Valencia is always special. In addition to being a home race, it is also the last race of the season and I have good memories here. It is a track that I enjoy a lot, and I am hoping that we will be able to have a good weekend and try to finish close to the top 10, our target."

Team Manager

"Here we are in Valencia, which already marks the end of a busy 2022 season. The opening round in Qatar feels like yesterday, and yet, we are about to close this season with a twentieth and final race.

If we look back at this year, we can say that neither the team nor the riders achieved what they were dreaming of. We had an amazing line up on paper with two exciting rookies, Remy Gardner and Raul Fernandez, Moto2 World Champion and Moto2 Vice-Champion, but it did not work the way we would have all wanted.

It is always sad to finish a season, even though it has not been easy every weekend. We still shared some good moments with both Remy and Raul, and I think that they both learnt a lot. Sometimes, you learn better in tough situations, and for sure they are two better riders than they were at the start of 2022.

Remy is moving to the WorldSBK, and I am sure that he will be fast and will achieve great things. Raul is staying in the MotoGP championship in 2023, and the team welcoming him will have a mature rider.

To close this season, the dream would of course be to have our two guys in the points, but also to have them both with a smile on their faces all weekend long. We are going to try to give them what they are expecting and hopefully this last race will be exciting for both the riders and their teams. It will also be the final race in Orange for our team, and I hope that we can close this chapter on a high."
